The 2020 Prayer Breakfast will be an exciting time for Christians from many different churches, businesses, schools and community organisations across Melbourne's East, to gather and pray for our City, State and Nation and be inspired and encourage by hearing from tennis legend, Ps Margaret Court.
Margaret Court is Australia’s most successful tennis player ever. She won an incredible 62 Grand Slam tournament victories and was the first Australian woman to ever win Wimbledon.
2020 marks the 50th anniversary of her winning all four Grand Slam titles in a single year.
In recent years, her public stance on the definition of marriage and its biblical foundation has attracted significant attention in the media.
In her life after tennis, Margaret founded Victory Life Centre in Perth, along with Victory Life International Bible Training Centre.
She also set up Margaret Court Community Outreach which supports the community and assists circa 550 families and individuals each week, with around 3,000 meals.
Margaret has authored several books, including Winning Faith and Winning Words, as well as The Margaret Court Story and Margaret Court:Autobiography. She is married to Barry and they have four adult children and nine grandchildren.
Strong and Courageous
Not many will ever have the public profile or media interest that Margaret Court attracts. However, life is becoming more and more difficult for Christians who speak to or hold traditional Christian beliefs.
Be encouraged and challenged as Ps Court speaks about her journey of courage and what helped her to stand strong and courageous, even when it meant becoming unpopular. You will also be equipped with strategies to handle difficult situations in your own journey, while remaining loving to those with whom you disagree.
